Heart is one of the most vital parts of human body. So, we need to maintain a healthy heart by controlling the food that enters to our body. Exercise itself is not enough if not supported by consuming good nutrition for the heart. Here are the vitamins to reduce the risk of heart disease:

Vitamin B contains some supplements such as folic acid, vitamin B6 and B12, which indirectly reduces the risk of heart attack. Blood have amino acid called homocysteine which can reduce blood flow through the blood vessels and induces cell clumping.

This in turn creates a block in the artery and vein and the impact triggered a heart attack. In this case, vitamin B helps in reducing the level of homocysteine in the blood.

Fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, and tuna, have a lot of omega-3. EPA and DHA reduce the risk of heart disease and patients with heart disease are advised to consume these healthy supplements on a regular basis.

Patients with high triglycerides can also consume omega-3 to keep the heart healthy.

Recent study from Harvard Medical School showed that taking a multivitamin regularly can help women without cardiovascular disease to ward off a heart attack. However, the efficacy of vitamin pills does not seem to be an effect on women who have suffered from heart disease.
